Why a flat price instead of per person
Two guests is a different night to plan than twelve. The sourcing is smaller, the service is quieter, and the pacing is closer to a tasting counter than a dinner party. So instead of running the usual per-guest math and an event minimum against a two-top, there's one number: $500 total, and it covers the whole night.
This is not a stripped-down version of the menu. It's the same sourcing, the same cooking, the same plates and the same service you'd get at a table of twenty.
What the night looks like
- 90 minutes before. I arrive, set your table with my plates and silverware, and start prep. You do nothing.
- Service. Courses come out one at a time, paced for two people who actually want to talk to each other. Two to two and a half hours, unhurried.
- After. Dishes done, counters wiped, everything packed out. About 45 minutes, and the kitchen is cleaner than I found it.
The menu: The Southern Table
Dinner for Two is served on The Southern Table — four courses of modern Southern cooking over smoke and fire. Every course has choices, and you pick each one yourself during booking, exactly like a full-size dinner. Dietary needs are adapted; tell me when you book.
Want FABLE · Wild South or The Butcher's Table instead? Those book as standard dinners at their per-guest price.
The occasions this is for
Anniversaries, a proposal, a birthday that shouldn't involve a restaurant waitlist, a first night back from a long trip, or a Tuesday that you'd rather not spend cooking. It's the same reason people book a private chef in Nashville for twenty — scaled to the two of you.
